Returning late from work I stopped into Tesco and couldn't resist buying a vanilla creme coronet from the bakery to cheer myself up. I had to take a picture of it because I can't yet find the words to describe the trauma of finding a center filled with green mould (see picture below). The best before date was today. Is there any scientist out there who can explain how you can get green mould inside a pastry "fresh from the baker" at Tesco?

Try a nice bit of steak or even mince (often bought days in advance of it's sell by date), only for it to turn 'grey' days before it's sell by date. How does this happen when you store it well inside their (Tescos) agreed 'conditions' ?
Personally to avoid any more trips back with out of date produce we have started to shop at Waitrose... It's dearer, but the cost is more than offset by the trips we were having to do backwards and fowards to Tesco's, or indeed Sainsburys who seem to make it a policy to sell 'mouldy meat' and never have anything available on their shelves !!
It's really great how these 'superpower' supermarkets operate their logistics, labelling, stacking, merchandising, etc... down to a tee ...NOT...
You would think by now they have had enough practice., but hey , Isn't Terry Leahy and Co focusing on taking over the world? Bet he's not eating out of date sh**e...?
Well Terry, are ya? Somehow I doubt it, and the fact you'll never admit you've lost focus on your core business? eh... might come back and bite you on Tesco's big footprint ass someday ... easier target then...
Let's see.. (Q the smug grin from Mr T no doubt..)
Keep buying your land, that way your guaranteed not to be able to be accussed of trying to flog one product on, by it being outside of it's sell by date..!!

Its a pity that Tesco could'nt use its clubcard to better use. What I mean by that is, rather than tracking your every purchase, why d'ont they track what you return also, that way some data management company would be able to tell Terry et al ,that there are problems as encountered above. The UK market alone is worth £180bn so Terry probably doen'nt give a shite.

This is'nt about your mould, which by the way looks awful, but as talking about Tesco here's a beauty from its loan application website.
"The amount you repay each month is determined by the amount that you borrow, the repayment term you choose and the rate of interest."
Well I never would have worked that out............ but thanks, now any chance of putting fresh food on the shelves?
